Our history
From one licence to four businesses
- 1978
Incorporated in Kuala Lumpur
Haldrica is founded as an exploration company with a single offshore licence.
- 1986
First oil at Selat Hujan
Our first operated field comes on stream offshore Peninsular Malaysia.
- 1994
First gas at Laut Dalam
The Laut Dalam cluster begins production and becomes the centre of our gas business.
- 2006
Tanjung Api ships its first cargo
The first LNG train starts up. The second follows in 2011.
- 2013
Pulau Kering joins the group
The refinery gives Haldrica a direct route to the Malaysian fuels market.
- 2021
Net zero ambition
We commit to net zero operated Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2050, against a 2019 baseline.
- 2022
Low-carbon business formed
Solar and carbon capture become a fourth business with its own capital allocation.
- 2026
Laut Dalam Phase 2 sanctioned
A RM 7.8 billion investment extends our largest gas cluster beyond 2030.

Joined Haldrica as a reservoir engineer in 1996 and has led the upstream and LNG businesses. Sits on the Board as the only executive director.
