Building a renewable power and carbon capture business.

Overview

Our low-carbon business develops solar power and carbon capture and storage. It has 800 megawatts of solar capacity and a capture pilot at Ayer Tenang, and received 11 percent of group capital expenditure in FY2025.

We have 800 megawatts of solar capacity: 620 megawatts operating across five sites in Peninsular Malaysia and 180 megawatts at Ladang Suria, which delivered first power in April 2026 and reaches full output by the end of the year.

At Ayer Tenang we operate a pilot that captures carbon dioxide from gas processing and stores it in a depleted reservoir, with capacity for 0.2 million tonnes a year. The pilot informs the design of a larger storage hub.

The business is small today, at 0.5 percent of group revenue. We plan to raise its share of capital expenditure to 20 percent by 2030 and to reach 3 gigawatts of renewable capacity in the same year.

    A pipeline of utility-scale sites to take capacity from 800 megawatts to 3 gigawatts by 2030.

    Monitoring at Ayer Tenang to show the reservoir holds carbon dioxide safely over time.

    Low-carbon investment paid for by upstream cash flow, within our capital framework.
